In my work and life, I create spaces of harmony and passion, leaving a mark. The end result: the ordinary is made extraordinary.
I view the world with a perspective of a practical Stewardship; an ethic pertaining to the responsible management of resources. The world is a connected place and when we view it and see the interactions between plants, animals and people we can develop a new appreciation for it. By acting from a space of appreciation for the world our actions toward it are inspired or positively charged. This action can be on a large or small scale; the seed can literally start at home.
These seeds can take the form of what I have come to refer to as Micro-Botanical Gardens. With a Micro-Botanical Garden (MBG) specific stories are told through their plants. The story can be developed around the needs and interests of the individual or groups who want to implement the MBG. These can be commercial, institutional, municipal, communal or dedicated to an individual (a home landscape). Paradise begins literally in own backyards, neighborhoods and cities. It is my goal to grow this idea to bring the green spaces to a new level in our lives.
I draw my own element of passion as well as the passion of others together, connecting that energy in the creative process. I thrive on creating spaces which have effective results, connecting with others.
I have worked more than 15 years in public horticulture in administration and collections as well as designs in public gardens and private. My experiences can and have been applied to a wide variety of private, non-profit and business scenarios.
My administrative and development background aid any organization (not just botanical gardens, zoos and museums) function more efficiently to achieve their goals. I have found the key to successful development is to effectively tell your organizations story in a positive manner, utilizing resources in a sustainable manner.

PROJECT EXAMPLES:
Retail Nursery: Wrote, edited and implemented signage to aide clients in making decisions for their own spaces. Consulted with clients to plant and design issues to refine their landscapes (residential and commercial).
Private Landscape: Refined an existing landscape design to incorporate privacy features as well as a sense of place and Stewardship. Enhancing the property and quality of life as well as long term reduction of cooling costs with strategic plant placements.
Private Collection: Organized a private colection of more thn 5,000 plants. Exchanging growth media to make acre for the collection more efficient. Identified unknown plants as they bloomed as well as ensured records were maintained in professional standards.
American Orchid Society Orchid Collection: With a private donor I revitalized the health of the collection, facilitated the cataloging and organization to move the collection to Farichild Botanical Garden.
Palm Beach Zoo: Facilitated a transfer of important aspects of the botanical collection from the American Orchid Society to the Palm Beach Zoo.
Professional Development: I am currently developing the concept for (and creating a plan) micro-botanical gardens. Small gardens with practical applications for municipalities, institutions, businesses and individuals. As well as a project focused on the concept and practical applications of Stewardship.
